Fashion industry in Pakistan has gained strength in recent years. This Asian country is famous for its luxurious jewelry and delicate embroidery, which can be found in those beautiful Pakistani wedding dresses. And there are no feminine clothes more beautiful and delicate than Pakistani dresses. Now they are so popular that even Western women wear them. It’s true that Pakistan's fashion week doesn’t yet exist, however, in cities such as London and Dubai, fashion shows are held where original creations from Pakistani designers are exhibited. The revolution of Pakistani fashion in recent years is the result of globalization and cultural fusion, where women are more independent and receive same opportunities than gentlemen. Nowadays, it’s very common to see models in social networks wearing Pakistani dresses. We even find people from different cultures and religions, celebrating themed weddings and using Pakistani wedding dresses. Many people are bringing their message of freedom and hope to the world by dressing up in the best of Pakistani fashion. The more conservative strata of Pakistani youth, especially women, are currently influenced by other powerful figures preaching women’s liberation. Among them are the famous Kardashian sisters, who curiously are very popular in the country. Analyzing some data, fashion business in the country represents approximately 20% of exports. Thanks to social networks, a mass consume market has been created thanks to publications of some famous models and influencers, posing with beautiful designs that are often used by Pakistani women. Today, social media gave many Pakistani designers the chance to become more visible to the world. Adnan Ansari, the main precursor of Fashion Week in Pakistan, said in an interview: People think that our country is full of problems, but Pakistan is full of art, music and creativity and there are many talented people who cannot be heard. Fashion, as a true reflection of society, is cyclical and always remains in constant evolution. Pakistani fashion was very liberal in 60s and early 70s; however, political and religious changes in the Asian country prevented the progress of the industry. However, things have changed in recent years and Pakistani fashion occupies more important spaces in the main modeling gateways of the world. |
