10:56 AM Triathlon Coaching In The Digital Age! |
All I’m going to say about the pandemic, given I’m just as sick of writing about it is you are of hearing about it, is that it did teach is an important lesson about preferring the Internet or physical contact when possible. Truth be told, with each generation since the advent of the Internet, or really since the telephone, people have been drifting further and further away from proximity and physical meet ups when they aren’t absolutely necessary for the task at hand. The added value of being there in person is entirely a construct, something that society has conditioned us to think has value. If it does have value to you, because you’re socially-line person, that doesn’t make you wrong, but you are a member of a dying species in that regard, most likely. Insularity is going to be the norm but not the kind of insularity that we once thought of. We have made a leap, over the past 2 years out of necessity, that would not have happened for another few decades otherwise, with the advent of the true digital age. When it comes to triathlon coaching or triathlon training plan in this digital age, you may be skeptical. Physical, socially-emphasize things like athletics seem like they would be compatible. However, since the gym was always in overrated bacteria fest full of jerks anyhow, and that’s the only thing that can’t be done online, it really isn’t that hard. Truth be told, you can do any kind of exercise you wanted nature or at home, and you can avoid audiences in gym a holes that way. All you really need is a smart phone, a smart watch and a virtual coaching app based around using these. The smart watch will obviously record biometric stuff, and the apple make sense of it, arrange virtual races and comparative stuff, and give coaches much more granular and precise fitness data on their teammates. With VoIP, you can work out together and still have that social interaction, and with the added benefit of being able to choose your venue, not having to worry about everyone’s conflicting schedules and of course, that more precise biometric data is actually very helpful to coaches to help cater important advice and fitness regimes for individuals on the team. You can still work out outside, riding your bike running and so forth, as long as you avoid crowded places. The wind isn’t going to blow in and carry the plague with it, and it doesn’t really travel very well over surfaces either. Respect social distancing, wear a mask in crowds and by all means, for the love of all that is holy, get vaccinated. However, even after this pandemic is over, you can count on this virtual approach to be much more popular due to the myriad conveniences it does offer, and that’s going to be the case for everything else that has had a shift to digital emphasis in recent years. The world will never be the same, this was a world-changing historical event. |
