Wearing swimming goggles will help to prevent chemicals such as chlorine from damaging the surface of your eyes.  These same chemicals are also hard on your swimming goggles so it is important that you clean them after each use. This will help to extend the life of the goggles.

• After every use you need to make sure that you rinse them in either lukewarm or cool tap water. All you have to do is just hold them under the water and let the water run over the front and back of the goggles.  Do not rub the lenses with your fingers, a cloth towel, or anything else as this can damage the coating on the lenses.  It is an anti-fog coating.  You should use just plain water and no type of detergent.

• Once you have washed them using either method let them air dry. • If your goggles are still dirty after rinsing you can wash them in a solution of hot water and vinegar, but only if they do not have an anti-fog coating.
