PCBs or Printed Circuit Boards are simple and fast to make and are affordable too. Circuit board design involves adding a layer of copper to a board to connect the different components and wires on it. They can be found in all kinds of different electronic equipment from computers to phones, to equipment the military use and more. Here is a look at the advantages of using a PCB.

1. Fewer issues with short-circuiting – PCBs rely on the copper tracks embedded in and these are very good at stopping issues like incorrect wiring and short-circuiting. The great thing about these boards is that they are very easy to test after being made by the manufacturer themselves so faulty ones are found and unlikely to get out onto the market.
2. There is not as much need for complete inspections – These are printed using a computer. Therefore the chances of broken circuits happening are much less than when boards are made manually.
3. PCBs are easy to maintain – This is due to the components being fixed on and there are then no loose parts or wiring that is overly complex. Being solid and fixed in place there are fewer chances of broken parts and the different parts are more identifiable. Since the boards themselves are simple it means the maintaining of them is too.
4. PCBs are easier to reproduce – they are a lot more attractive as an option to many different businesses because many use the same specs and the same circuit board design. Being printed from a computer means that are easier to replicate and stay consistent as often as you need to. Custom circuit boards with a manual process are harder and more time consuming to create at high volume still keeping them identical.

Printed circuit boards cost less -  Compared to custom circuit board, PCBs cost less and therefore a better option if you need a single design in mass production.
