What is the Ivy League?

The Ivy League is a group of elite schools in the northeastern United States. Seven of the eight schools have existed since the colonial era of America, and they are regularly ranked as some of the best colleges in the world. According to “US News and World Report,” the entire Ivy League rank in the top 17 colleges of the world as of 2020. They are considered large private schools as they have more students then a majority of private schools in the world. Attending an Ivy League school is prestigious on its own, graduating from one even more so.

Why does it matter?

It matters because prestige is everything when it comes to college. Most major colleges these days offer similar levels of overall education.
