Although security fencing Western Australia is generally used for businesses, prisons, military bases, etc some homeowners want security fencing around their home.  When choosing a security fence for your home you want to make sure that it is hard to climb over, cannot be bypassed easily, and does not provide any hiding places for the intruder. 

Too make sure that it is hard to climb over it should be:

• At least eight feet tall unless there is a height restriction.  You will need to check before having security fencing installed just how tall you can build it.
• It should have just a few rails that are horizontal as these types of rails can help give burglars a leg up if they try to scale your fencing.
• At the top you should make sure that it is pointed or spiked to help prevent an intruder from climbing over it.

To make sure that the intruder cannot go under, go around the security fencing easily or cut through it here are some things that you should do.

• Make sure that the fencing is secured into the ground using concrete.  The best way to do this you should have concrete footing along the entire length of the fence but this can be expensive.  If you cannot do this at least make sure that all posts are secured in concrete
• Make sure that you have a secure heavy duty gate to match the security of your fence panels and be sure to padlock the gate

Two types of security fencing 

• Metal security fences—this type of security fencing has tall, thin metal rods that are evenly spaced out.
• Wire mesh fencing—this type of security fencing is make a tightly woven grid of wire and comes in panels, which are hung between metal posts.

One thing that you can do when using security fencing for your home is to use a short fence as a hurdle in your front yard.  With even a small fence and good locking gate it will make it harder for a burglar to carry away things from your home.
